Car Rental at Providenciales Airport
Renting a car at Providenciales Airport is a practical option if you want to explore Grace Bay, Long Bay, Chalk Sound and other parts of Turks and Caicos at your own pace. Several international and local rental companies serve PLS Airport, with some offering airport desks, nearby pickup points or shuttle arrangements. Booking ahead is strongly recommended during busy travel periods.
Airport Taxi
Taxis wait right outside the terminal, so you can walk out and grab one as soon as you land. Fares follow a fixed-rate system based on your destination rather than a meter, and a typical ride for two people runs around $28 to $34. Some drivers charge per passenger, so confirm the total before you set off. Lines get long on busy weekend afternoons, when booking a transfer ahead saves you the wait.
Short-Long-Term Parking
Providenciales Airport parking is located close to the terminal and is useful for short pick-ups, drop-offs and longer stays. Parking fees are typically charged by the hour, day or week. During busy travel periods, especially weekends, arrive early because spaces near the terminal can fill quickly. Hourly Parking: 2$, Daily parking 25$, Weekly parking 175$
How to Get to Providenciales Airport?
- The airport sits in the central part of Providenciales, about 15 to 20 minutes from Grace Bay along Leeward Highway. From the Downtown area, follow Leeward Highway to the Gateway to Grace Bay roundabout, then take the short Allegro Road into the resort district. Taxis and private transfers are the usual way in and out, since the island has no public bus network. Driving yourself is straightforward once you know the main road.

Providenciales Airport Map
There is a single terminal at PLS Airport. This terminal has two floors. All international flight procedures are carried out in one large check-in hall. The ground floor of the terminal has check-in counters and baggage drop-off areas. There are several cafes and a small restaurant in the post-security waiting area. Duty-free shops and local handicraft stores are available in the terminal.
The airport is currently going through a phased expansion. In early 2026 the government dropped an earlier $500 million private redevelopment plan and switched to funding the work itself, starting with a 40,000 square foot terminal extension aimed at easing congestion. Construction on this first phase is expected to begin in 2026, so expect some building activity around the terminal.
